I am originally from Quebec City and have lived in the Yukon since 2015.

I completed my Masters in Social Work at the University of Ottawa. I worked in front-line social work, mental health and sexual health before making the transition to clinical counselling. I am trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy and the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy. I am currently training in Somatic Experiencing.

I am passionate about my work. I believe we all need connection, compassion, and understanding of our inner world. I strive to make my practice inclusive and welcoming to all.

My practice focuses mainly on intimacy, sexuality, relationships and the transition to parenthood.

Some of my favorite things to do in my free time are dancing, reading, baking and harvesting wild plants.

Kim Winnicky - Clinical intern

I have lived in Whitehorse since 2004 on the traditional territory of the Kwanlin Dun First Nation and the Ta’an Kwach’an Council.

My counselling work is grounded in compassion, respect, and an appreciation for the differences that make each person unique. My integrative approach draws from attachment theory, narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy to best serve my clients. I strive to recognize the inherent strengths of each client, working collaboratively to reduce anxiety, improve relationships, and optimize overall well-being.

For over 10 years I have worked in with Hospice Yukon and in private practice supporting people at the end-of-life, caregivers, and those experiencing grief and loss. I have a deep interest in helping people navigate various forms of loss, including cumulative loss, ambiguous loss, and losses associated with chronic illness. My culturally sensitive and trauma-informed approach ensures that each client feels heard, understood, and empowered to heal in their own way.

I hold a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta and a Master of Arts from Carleton University. I am currently a Clinical Intern completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. I’ve enjoyed a diverse career that has included producing music festivals, conducting environmental reviews, and leading a variety of organizations. I bring a spirit of curiosity, openness to change, and a dedication to building community to my work and personal life.
